Global Skills for teens
Personal and social capability, ethical understanding and intercultural learning focus on ways of being, behaving and learning to live with others.
These are key global skills for teens. That's why they are outlined as key capability areas in the Australian Curriculum for students in Year 10.
Global skills are important to all students, regardless of their cultural or socio economic background, whether they are a student at school or undertaking their schooling at home.
Delivered by qualified facilitators, we offer a series of programs that develop global skills for individual students or student groups, in school or at home, and also to youth organisations that want to add intercultural learning to their activities and leadership programs.
Programs for teens
Global You™ Changemaker
Build your global skills and create innovative social impact projects when you work with teens from around the world on this 12-week virtual exchange program
The AFS Global Competence Certificate is delivered in a series of interactive modules online. You can manage the course load at your own pace between the weekly live sessions with qualified facilitators.
This blended learning program develops tangible global skills for young people; essential to live, work, and make a real social impact around the world.
Students work independently through each week's sessions, coming together each week online to work together as a group in interactive workshops with a qualified facilitator. Here, they share their learning and have group discussions to assess and solve problems that help them to become a global citizen.
The program is delivered in a closed, minors-only platform for connecting and sharing with other teens at home, in school or even with other students worldwide.
